US military Occupations
by Matt Giwer, © 2002 [October]

The US military occupation of a country is simply having US troops stationed in that country. An invitation or the approval of the occupied country does not mean a thing. Many countries invited occupation by the Wehrmacht prior to the start of WWII. Coercion, bribery, corruption are but a few ways to obtain an invitation.

I give the start dates as in no case is there an end date exist or even being discussed. This is not intended as a complete list.

  • Britain, 1942
  • Germany, 1945
  • Japan, 1945
  • Korea, 1949
  • Serbia, 1990
  • Saudi Arabia, 1990, US supported monarchy
  • Kuwait, 1991, US supported monarchy
  • Yugoslavia, 1999
  • Pakistan, 2001, US approved dictator
  • Afghanistan, 2002, US installed dictator

Then there are the planned occupations. Years are guesstimates.

  • Iraq, 2003
  • Syria, 2004
  • Iran, 2005
  • Expanded Saudi Arabia, 2006

The US will provide the manpower for these occupations with a renewed draft. The countries will graciously pay for their liberation and reorientation in oil. The US will have a net profit from the occupations with the direct oil payments. US oil companies will also receive the bulk of the oil contracts and the US will tax their profits. What is left over will go to improving the infrastructure of the these countries via construction contracts with other American countries.

All of this will be with the approval of the dictators the US installs in these countries. The US will continue to undermine democratic movements in these countries. There are no plans for any form of democracy in the currently occupied monarchies and dictatorships.

We were told we were fighting for democracy in the liberation of Kuwait in the first Gulf War. There is none now, ten years later. There are no efforts to promote the idea and no plans to promote it in the future.
