Who are the targets of this war?

Since 9/11 the earth has changed from just Iraq suitable for political warmongering to a target rich environment. The number of potential targets has increased so greatly it explains why the US plans to keep at least 10,000 nuclear warheads but that may not be enough at the rate things are going.

  • It started with al Qaeda and grew to all of Afghanistan. Afghanistan was not declared "evil" before, during or after the war.
  • In January 2002, when it was clear Afghanistan was a slam dunk, the US identified an "axis of evil" consisting of Iran, Iraq, and North Korea. This was not for any connection with 9/11.
  • In May 2002 the "axis of evil" was expanded to include Libya, Syria, and Cuba. The additions were not explained and at the time the US was in the process of negotiating reduced trade restrictions with Cuba.
  • In June 2002 the US added 54 unnamed nations to the list because they could be developing weapons of mass destruction bring the total up to 60.
  • Also in June 2002 the US increased the potential target nations to include those which oppose terrorism but tolerate the hatred that leads to terror thus elevating having a bad attitude to a cause for war.
  • Also in June 2002, the US announced nuclear first strikes as an option against these 60 nations.
    • June was a busy month. (grim not grin)
  • In July 2002 The US announced Jacksonville Florida was harboring an al Qaeda cell.
