No Belief remains true

Things are happening too quickly for believers in the Holocaust to keep up. As in the past historians have modified the Holocaust they continue to do so today. If you learned about it as little as five years ago, you are out of date.

Take for example, the death toll at Auschwitz. At one time it was unofficially at high at nine million. It was officially four million from 1946 to 1990. After 1990 it officially one and a half million and unofficially as low as 700,000. At the current rate of decline it should be about 74,000 (the only documented figure) in another ten years.

And these numbers are from what pass for respected holocaust authorities, the writers/historians who continue to refine the Holocaust story to attempt to support its plausibility.

The problem of course is cataloging just what you believe. For example in the 1996 campaign season in New Mexico there was an ad mentioning gas ovens. My first thought was of "Bye Bye Birdie" where the mother put her head into an electric oven to commit suicide.

By the way, she is very Jewish in the movie, a real Jewish mother stereotype, she boils his shirts. I have not watched the movie in a long time. The scene may be cut from recent releases. Who says history can not be controlled?

But, but, but, barely thirty years later that term somehow applies to the Holocaust. Instead of being funny, it is "offensive" to some self proclaimed holohuggers. And rather than a correction, it elicites an apologiy. It appears that the word "gas" connected with the word "oven" elicites some connection to the Holocaust even though there is not now nor has there ever been one.
