Israel shelled a Palestinian refugee camp and claimed it was an accident. The UN investigated and declared it was deliberate. The US vetoed the release of the UN report.

      What was not reported by the US media? The reports from UN personnel in the camp and the reason the UN declared it deliberation.

      The UN personnel in the camp reported the initial shells were few and were walked into the center of the camp. Then the rate of shelling increased and all of the shells landed inside the camp. A senior Belgian officer experienced in artillery examined the pattern of and confirmed the pattern of the shelling was consistant with targetting the camp.

      The UN report contained this information. The US would not permit it to become official. As is well known in Israel, the US government is in the hands of Israel. But the Israeli media is much more open to criticizing the acts of Israel in a mannter that would be called antisemitic if written by anyone else.

      Israel deliberately provoked the Palestinians by opening a tunnel for the benefit of shopkeepers in Jerusalem.

      In this case the most visually interesting footage, the heart and soul of television, was downplayed, shown once if at all by the major news outlets. That was the Israeli helicopter gunship firing a heavy machinegun into crowds of Palestinian in Ramallah.
