The uniquely good thing about Windows as compared to DOS is that it is much more polite. Where as DOS has this habit of making the user feel dumb as a dog with its repetitious use of the term "bad command, bad command." Windows, no matter how stupid it thinks the user is, will usually hold its tongue.

Rather, when the user has done some completely stupid thing, it will blame itself or the program rather than the user.

For example, all users and programmer's realize there is really no such thing as a "GENERAL PROTECTION FAULT." Rather it is a feature added by Microsoft in emulation of the Asimov's 3rd Law of Robotics to avoid doing emotional harm to the user.
