Would the FBI bomb Anyone?

I know, only a crazed conspiracy fruitcake would ask such a question. Everyone knows the FBI will do its best to protect us from the dangers of terrorist bombings. But lets take the question seriously and see what the FBI has done with regard to other bombings. Consider the World Trade Center bombing.

There was a masterpiece of investigation. Why in only a few hours the FBI had exactly the right piece of truck it needed to identify find the person who rented it. With that person in custody they were able to find the place it was built and arrest the conspirators. They were tried and found guilty and the FBI saved us from terrorism once more.

Save for a minor problem. The FBI had an informant who was spying on the group the built the bomb. Even more interesting that informant secretly taped his conversations with the FBI. And the New York Times got them and published transcripts of them. They tell a somewhat different story.

This informant was taking direction from the FBI as to his participation in the bombing conspiracy. For example, the FBI knew everyone who had participated before the bomb went off. It knew where the truck was to be rented. It knew when the bomb was going to be set off.

But still these people were guilty and this person was simply an informant, right? Not according to the tapes. It seems these people were not very good terrorists and did not know how to build a bomb. So the informant was directed to tell them how to make it. Originally the plan was for the informant to obtain a non-explosive substance that would be labelled ammonium nitrate. That plan was changed. Their informant was directed to provide them with the real thing.

Not only could the FBI have prevented the bombing by arresting the conspirators at any time but it effectively taught them how to make the bomb. All this time we have been living with the lie about the great investigative work of the FBI when in fact it was the FBI that not only made it all possible but declined to prevent it.

With protection like this, I suggest we need more enemies.

More to the point is the outright rejection of the possibility that the government bombed the Murrah Building. Given its complicity in the World Trade Center bombing it is not something to be rejected out of hand at all. Were it to come out that the FBI, directly or through a paid informant, taught McVeigh how to make the bomb, made certain he used the right materials, knew the time and place of the bombing and let it happen how many would say the FBI was not a part of the bombing?

How is it that people can not believe the FBI would do exactly what it did in the WTC bombing? Did they find Jesus in the interim? And please note, no one in the FBI has been even reprimanded for making it all possible and then letting it happen.

As in Oklahoma City any suggestion that the FBI might have been involved in the bombing is something only believed by crazed right wing militia types. That is correct. There is no reason to believe it yet. We do not have the evidence as yet.

Dismissing the idea out of hand is clearly foolish given what happened in New York City only a year earlier. We might find the suspicions regarding Oklahoma City only one conspiracy publications but we find the facts of New York City published in the New York Times.

Would the FBI bomb anyone? Hard to say. We know they will do the next best thing; they will have a patsy do it. They may use someone who has intent in the first place but if he does not have the capability, they will make certain he gets it.
