In Waco we saw a graphic demonstration of the tyranny of our government. It is unfortunate so many have accepted it.
We saw the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (BATF) attack for whatever reason their fellow citizens. People died on both sides. Immediately the FBI moved in, assumed the Branch Davidians were guilty, and demanded they surrender to murder charges.
Clearly if the FBI had investigated as thoroughly as the jury in the case they would not have demanded surrender to murder charges. It is also clear that there is nothing per se illegal about killing a federal agent as the agent may have provoked his own killing. It is also clearly not the duty of the FBI to take one side against another.
Unless I missed something the I in FBI stands for Investigation. There is not the least evidence the FBI investigated anything regarding the initial assault. The only thing the FBI did was adopt an us against them attitude toward fellow citizens and find them at fault. Worse they failed completely to consider the actions of the BATF.
Now I am not proposing there should have been no response to the death of federal agents. I am clearly stating there was absolutely no, nada, zilch response to the death of Branch Davidians. There are two sides to every confrontation; the FBI did not give a damn about one of those sides.
We clearly have a demonstration of the monolithic government against the people of the United States. At the federal level the FBI is the investigative agency to protect the people of this country. I know of nothing in its charter excluding protection from fellow government agents. I can not imagine that being reasonable.
Perhaps they did investigate. Considering that not one of the original charges save for gun law violations were found by the jury (the manslaughter charges were introduced two days before it went to the jury and thus was not original) is it conceivable not one federal law was violated by anyone in the BATF?
Obviously the FBI is solely on the side of the government and against the people in any confrontation. That may be how things develop but that is not how a government that exists at the sufferance of the people should be.
We support a complex government with many parts. We should not accept that government turning monolithic against us. But here we have our government turning monolithic against us.
It is agreed "us" is not the Branch Davidians. I will point out the principle of our law, innocent until proven guilty. I will point out the charter of the FBI in all matters involving the federal government and its laws, to investigate.
It is not the charter of the FBI to side with fellow government agents. It is not their job to create a monolithic us against them, government against the people attitude. No people in their right mind would create a government that sides against them.
Yet that is exactly what we have in our government at this very moment. It is an attitude that all government people are the government rather than merely employees of the government and otherwise plain old vanilla citizens just like the rest of us. It is an attitude which holds the receipt of a government pay check raises the recipient to a higher class of citizen.
Try it this way. The EPA monitors the chimney of a home fire place and comes in shooting. One or more of their people die. The government does not question, never considers, shooting may not have been legal but charges the tender of the home hearth fires with murder.
I wish that were true. My government is not the kind I had envisioned. Is it really true I can get a government job and go about wasting people and never have the government investigate me doing so? And rather posthumously charge the people I waste with crimes beyond the sensibilities of mortal men?
If not, what makes the BATF in the least different?
