Herodotus invented the Palestinians
by Matt Giwer, © 2011 [Dec 13]

Some 2500 years ago the Greek Herodotus was traveling the Persian empire and wrote up what he learned. In the process he invented the idea of writing history. Instead of anecdotal accounts and vignettes he wrote a chronology of how things came to be as he found them.

In the process he mentioned the Palestinians seven times. Not Philistines but Palestinians. He also failed to mention any Jews or people who could have been Jews. Obviously Jews/Judeans had not differentiated themselves from their fellow Palestinians in the 5th c. BC.

So when Newt Gingrich declared the Palestinians were invented he joined a host of other ignorant sluts such as Golda Meier and Joan Peters who knew no better than he.

Believe your government. There really was a
Gulf of Tonkin incident.
