An American style government
Filled with conflicts of interest, nepotism, patronage, corporate kickbacks, and favoritism. So Iraq already has a government like ours.

At least we have shown them our women are open about sex.

School of the Americas
Fort Benning, Georgia. This is where the US demonstrates what is torture and makes certain the students learn exactly what not to do to avoid torturing people. Do not apply electrodes to the genitals like so. Do not throw the switch like this. Do not cause screaming as on this volunteer doing. People must be taught exactly how not to violate our precious American values so they do not do it be accident.

RICO statutes
The treaties and accords on war and POWs and such require each signatory nation to incorporate their provisions into law. Therefore they are either in US law or the US is not compliant with the law. Assuming they are in US law then the RICO statutes (legal sanction to conspiracy theories) holds that anyone who gives material aid or support to a criminal act knowingly or unknowingly is liable to the full penalty for the criminal act. The Godfather does not even have to wink or nudge to be guilty of murder if the lowliest street punk is killed.

Sorry Folks but the Bush administration is now a criminal organization. I would prefer the RICO statutes did not exist and object to them on several grounds particularly the American penchant for conspiracy theories, but they were on the books when these crimes occurred so there is only one possible legal conclusion.

The rules are supposed to control human nature
Where I defending the accused that would be my defense. The very need for rules implies human nature is not as we would like. Heck even God made rules, right? you fundie freaks? And their superiors put them in a position where human nature would appear and did not apply or enforce rules to prevent it.

Is this not arguing human nature, too fundamental to be considered by the court. Absolutely not as for centuries this aspect of war has been recognized and seen in need of regulation and punishment. For the last 150 years formal agreements between nations have existed addressing exactly this behavior. It could not be a surprise to the highest authority from the Bush on down that it would happen absent enforcement and oversight.

These people were put into a situation where the side of human nature we know exists would come out and did nothing to stop it. At home we know if we kidnap a neighbor and do these things we are dead meat. Here were have the guns and no restraint. We are only human.

This does not apply to the lowest level only. This failure rises to the top of the chain of command and in the US that is the president. And from there it is the responsibility of the American people because they elected him. You can't walk away from responsibility by voting for the other guy any more than you can reclaim your losses in a poker game any more than you have to return your winnings. You play the game you are responsible, win or lose.

There is the defense. They were all put in a situation, an aggressive war of conquest, and were not given the proper controls and discipline by those who directed the war. The sin rises to the top of the command.

When you campaign for a job in an election you represent yourself as fully qualified for that job. When your performance makes it clear you are not qualified you either lied or are too stupid to know you lied.

So also with accepting a job such as Rumsfeld did. He represented himself as fully qualified. That was another false representation. He lied or was too dumb to know that he lied. But in all his false representations and all of his responsibility for the rape, sodomy, torture and murder Bush says he is doing a superb job at all of the above.

We can now see why Bush mimicked to ridicule a condemned woman pleading for her life before she was executed by his order. He is clearly the rotten apple at the top of the barrel. How can anyone not be disgusted with this animal even despite being a loyal Republican? This man is below the Homo Falwellus scale of failed human.

Beheaded Berg
Mosul police chief says there is no record of his ever being arrested. Berg said he had been arrested by the US. The US consular office in Iraq said he was arrested by the US military. He is shown wearing an orange jumpsuit. He was killed by the US. Why is it so hard to connect the dots? He was visited by the FBI in prison three times. He was investigated by the FBI in the US because the "20th hijacker" had his password to an internet account. And here he is again in the hands of terrorists.

And the family business Prometheus Methods Tower Services Incorporated of Pennsylvania has no records with the state. So it it not licensed to do business in the state which raises the question if it is a real business or a cover? It must pay taxes if it is earning money. And if not earning money what did the family live on?

The only outstanding question is if done by the US how could it be so stupid in so many ways? Perhaps the answer is the media is not asking the obvious questions.

Calling a bluff
If it is a bluff. Al Sistani is Shia and moderate and has the largest following in all of Iraq. He has asked al Sadr and his militia to leave Najaf but said he has a right to fight. He has asked the US also to leave the city and in particular not to enter the cemetery and avoid the central mosques. The US has entered the cemetery with tanks and has shelled one of the mosques. Now we will see if it is a bluff.

Everyone condemns what Rumsfeld approved
So far Rumsfeld is the only hold out on condemning the torture methods used in Iraq.

Beheading anyone?
The "terrorist" Hezbollah has condemned it. All clerics have condemned the beheading. All have said it is barbaric. It mutilates the body which is forbidden. None have condemned the killing but the method sets back the chances of getting the Americans to leave. Only the really dumb think America has any intention of leaving.

And the questions mount on the video. Zaqawari is said to be the man doing the speaking but the US reported him dead weeks before this happened. Where did they get a US style orange prison jumpsuit for Berg to wear? Was he or was he not in prison in Iraq and released the day before this happened? The father and the State Department say yes and the DOD says no. Why do the men in the background stand at a military parade rest instead of milling about like militia? Anyone who thinks they can just slice a head off with a knife has never butchered anything larger than a chicken.

For the record, the mention of Al Qaeda exists only in the US translation. It is not on the tape. Al Qaeda is being framed. Who would do a thing like that? Again?

Lawyers advise against releasing more pictures
So? Who is in charge? The lawyers? It might violate the Geneva Convention you say? Is it not a bit late for that? But if it is, blur out the faces and the genitals. The word bullshit comes to mind.

Bush murdered Berg
Absurd. Lets consider the only two reasons it can be considered absurd.

  • The US does not murder people. The pictures show otherwise.
  • The US does not lie to the people. The war shows otherwise.
We have no reason to consider it absurd. It could not have happened at a more coincidental or more appropriate time.

Titan and CACI
Those are the two companies so far named as billing the government for torture services. The CEOs say the torturers are not directly employed by their companies but refuse to name the subcontractors who do employ them. Rationally the CEOs would jump at the chance to clear their companies reputation. That is only irrational if naming the subcontractors will cause worse problems.

US concern over inhumane, criminal treatment and murder
No one inside the media and political establishment has any consideration other than the internal US political fallout. There is precious little being mentioned about international political fallout. It is on the alternate news sources on the internet is there any mention of the crimes themselves as crimes. The most telling commentary outside the internet has been the Daily Show, the cable TV Comedy Channel parody on the news, The Daily Show.

So Bush has nothing to worry about. He is still getting away with murder and torture.

2004 May 12

The rush to write about torture
That is not the point. The rush should be to always include knowledge of these things into everything said and written. For example Bush rushed to say there was no excuse for killing Berg. The first question should be if not torture and murder of prisoners an excuse? Everything is tainted by this until there is full disclosure that gives no hint of a coverup.

It has been known for decades the US Army runs a training camp in torture methods. The media should now be framing its questions in terms of the torture training. How can it be disavowed as unamerican when we teach it?

Bush said it would not change our objectives of reconstruction and installing democracy. No it will not stop reconstruction. That was stopped weeks ago by the countrywide resistance movement. As for installing democracy there has been a lot of talk about democracy but no action towards a democracy. Six months ago the excuse was a census needs be taken first. There is still no effort towards conducting a census. No census, no vote, no democracy. All hat, no cattle.

Rumsfeld is Rummy
Today he said he has no problem with US prisoners being treated as were the Iraqis. He said the treatment was not a violation of the Geneva conventions. When it does happen his nodding approval will be expected not his usual sanctimonious drivel.

Oddly he also said there was no justification for beheading the American but he has yet to offer justification for US murdering at least two Iraqi prisoners.

But we have Rumsfeld own statement, he approved everything we have seen in the pictures.

Say, Rummy, did you sell them the orange prison jumpsuit Berg was wearing?

Terrorist, def. taking up arms to end the American occupation, see Le Resistance

Just a few bad apples?
Do you think Americans are the only people who watch American TV? How about crime movies. What are suspects regularly threatened with? Prison rape. Just so no one gets the idea it is fiction, the greatest number of rapes in the US is of men in prison. It is not women. Ever hear of any politician talking about cleaning up that mess? So when the Red Cross says "We are dealing with a broad pattern, not individual acts." even Americans should take it seriously.

And American TV shows this is what to expect.

The impact has nothing to do with what Americans want to believe. It is what Iraqis believe. On the 19th Iraqis are going to see American justice in action. They are going to see a man get a dishonorable discharge and one year in prison. And that only if he gets the maximum penalty possible. The American penalty for one year of torturing an unknown number of people an unknown number of times is one year in prison. That is American justice in action and that is what Iraqis will see, a show trial.

There is a $300 reward for capturing an American soldier and only $150 for killing one. Captured women may be kept as slaves. That is what this has lead to. My best bet is men will brag about refusing the reward.

Beheaded American
Done by a few bad apples of course.

Intelligence people are responsible for the torture
And the noted bigot Lt. Gen. Boykin is head of army intelligence. The dots are connected with but one short line.

2004 May 10

Bush has lost touch with reality
If he was ever in touch with reality. Let us review the bidding. Either 20 years of 24/7 intoxication keeps you in touch with reality or it does not. It does not. Then he quits drinking based solely upon a delusion he talks to some god who answers him. Of all the millions who have claimed to act upon such a relationship with any god in all of history none in any position of power have ever done anything but harm to the world. The greater the power, the greater the harm. Bush is one of them.

An uneducated man would have seen that. An educated man would have both seen that and learned that. The people around him would both know and see that.

He said Iraqis demanding the US leave are rejecting freedom and self government. How does rejecting his governance of Iraq constitute freedom and self government? How can he say that and be in touch with reality? He has approved the cold blooded murder of people protesting US rule of Iraq. It is clear even the lowliest Iraqi has a greater claim to rule Iraq than Bush. It is not his country to rule, period. Any Iraqi choosing to end his rule by any means is morally corrected to do so by every Christian principle ever stated.

Bush cannot think of one mistake he made in the war on Iraq. I can think of several mistakes I made in the last week in day to day matters. He cannot think of one mistake in two years of warmongering which has all gone to shit. He can't think he made a mistake on the Niger uranium claim which even he knows was a lie?

No problem. He can't think. The man is totally out of touch with reality.

I was wrong in 1990
I really thought with the end of the Cold War the US would get back to national concerns only. Naive I was. I was ready to give DOD an increased budget to convert from Global Nuclear War configuration to a peace time configuration. That should have ended by 1995. The US killed many strategic weapons procurements in 1944 when victory was in sight -- nine months away. We certainly could do as well without an active war but with a longer procurement cycle.

Why in the EFing world are we doing this? The US did NOT fight Germany to purge the world of evil. The US fought Germany because Germany declared war on the US. Anything you have ever heard to the contrary is a lie. Learn real history.

But lies of WWII propaganda about America's purging Nazi evil are the only basis to proclaim a mission after giving eastern Europe to communism.

My apologies. I find this very difficult to write without raising outside issues which detract from the point. The US fought Germany because it was attacked and then gave eastern Europe to Stalin knowing he had murdered some 40 million people who disagreed with him, largely for religious reasons.

China and Christian cults
China hates them. China destroys them where possible. Why? There was a civil war in China from 1855 to 1867 or so. It cost 20 million lives back when that was about 1/5 the population of China. It was started by a Chinese turned "end of the world is coming real soon" Christian convert. If such a cult has causes the death of 60 million Americans in the next fifteen years would you tend to trust another new one?

Rumsfeld swore under oath he is responsible for the war crimes in Iraq
That sounds good to me. So all the tortured Iraqis and survivors of the murdered can sue him in US courts for all he is worth and then some. Want to bet? And he can be taken before the War Crimes tribunal in the Hague and his admission of guilt entered into evidence before he is hung. Want to bet? Assuming responsibility also assumes criminal and civil liability. Want to bet?

There is more

  • A man died while being questioned. That is what we call homicide.
  • The circumstances of his death were knowingly concealed. That is what we call accessory to murder.
  • No one is talking about hanging the people who inserted the fake IV needle.
But wait, the first man's courts martial starts next week. Whatever the charges, the worst penalty is a dishonorable discharge and a year in prison. That is the worst. He has been torturing people for a year so he gets a year? In an Iraqi prison?

I'm sure happy Iraqis are going to see justice done.

Direct from the horse's ass
"... acts that can only be described as blatantly sadistic, cruel, and inhuman" swears Donald Rumsfeld to Congress.

"the American people need to understand we are talking about rape and murder here" Senator Lindsey Graham, Republican.

I have one of my own for Bush to use. "They hate us because we are free to torture them."

Perhaps they should have paid attention to real history not Hollywood history. Torture and abuse were reported by German and Japanese POWs after WWII. American boys would never do anything like that. No one believes that neo-Nazi propaganda.

Look at the pictures. There certainly is a clash of cultures. You can see it in the pictures. Even though Iraq was the most advanced in terms of women's rights it still did not permit them to be torturers. American women are free to be the only thing they can be.

2004 May 08

The best is yet to come
What will be the reaction in the US media when it becomes impossible to admit Israelis directed and at times conducted these homoerotic S&M events? Do we get an Iraqi Holocaust Memorial Museum?

The named contractors have looked into the matter. They say they have not been contacted by law enforcement which is not the right answer. They should say they are not at liberty to discuss the subject. CEOs are not going to take the fall for this. They cannot bill for criminals acts. In fact it is illegal to contract for criminal acts. The contract is void. All money paid must be returned.

So if not our contractors then what other civilians are we talking about? There is no Buy American Act regarding hiring torturers. And why the talk about the contractors being beyond the reach of the law? If they are American civilians they are subject to either US criminal or military law or Iraqi law, period. The only question is which set of laws. There is no question they are subject to one or the other. Unless of course they hide in Israel safe from extradition.

These are exactly the forms of torture used on Palestinians. Palestinians have been reporting this treatment for years.

It will make headlines around the world and run for days. In the US there will be one or two short, low-keyed mentions and dropped. Anyone who mentions it will be labeled an anti-semite and neo-Nazi.

How lame thou art
From the Weekly Standard editor, "Worse things than this happen in frat houses across America." Twelve year old girls are beaten senseless in frat houses? Frat houses kidnap and imprison people for months on end and treat them like shit? When are the police going to shut them down and arrest everyone? I had no idea frats were like that. And is there a super-frat organization that can sue for libel and slander? Does the Standard have deep pockets?

Limbaugh showed how badly his mind was damaged by drugs when he said people "were having a good time" and "blowing off steam." He appears to be confessing what he does to relax after the show. That man is one sick pit bull. Maybe he can be used to scare kids of away from drug abuse -- This can happen to you.

Subhuman columnist Cal Thomas wrote "If there has been humiliation, it is not the fault of the West. It is Muslims' fault." Mr. Thomas, you bigoted little prick, sir, can you tell us what the Jews did to earn the wrath of the Nazis?

But then Rumsfeld says, "Worse is yet to come." Worse frat house pranks?

Harm
I have heard politicians use the work irreparable many times and this is the first time it really is. So far not one foreign government has condemned what the US has done. They have all condemned American hypocrisy on torture and human rights. America has protested its purity and designated itself a world leader in human rights. It has condemned nations around the globe for torture and violating human rights. Everyone of Bush's speeches for the last year has proclaimed torture no longer occurs in Iraq. This has caused irreparable harm.

Now we are hearing about American Justice. And so far justice consists of throwing a few enlisteds to the wolves. Any country can do that every time pictures become public. That is all the US has done.

Careful of the name-calling
The hero/dupe/idiot football player Tillman's body has been examined. According to forensic pathologists at Ramstein AFB, he was given excellent medical treatment while in captivity. Such are the barbaric Iraqis compared to the compassionate Americans. There is no report he was wearing panties at the time of his death.

I don't think much of sports jocks so I would never consider any of them very intelligent. It is irrational to suggest being able to run like an Iraqi on election day merits special consideration. (Old timers will get that.) Just making it in college sports leads to the assumption they are affirmative action graduates. They have to prove something beyond that. Avenging 9/11 in Iraq is just plain stupid.

Fucking idiot fundies
Talking about Israel is forbidden even when they only survive because creationist redneck christian fundies want them all to convert or die ASAP. I have more in common with the majority of Jewish Israelis than Falwell. Most of them are agnostic or atheist. Of the remaining religious Jews, a third of them are Christian Jews. There are really very few jewish Jews in Israel.

It is not easy to explain but the reason is the Israeli definition of a Jew is identical to the Nazi definition. Israel rejects the religious definition.

Whomever these crazy fundies are, think about their homosexual S&M binge. Then remember who is how stupid. Do we have any pictures from that prison from Hussein's time? At least we know Hussein was smarter than Bush.

I have an apology
I realize I have been implying this is Gay S&M. Gays into S&M are as disgusted by this as the rest of us. If it is not voluntary it is disgusting. A kink is a kink. It is for pleasure not for real. Those people are true sociopaths just like Bush who mimicked the last minute pleas of a condemned woman before the needle. He really enjoys this sort of thing. The man is sick.

Draft?
I refuse to be drafted into the torture of my fellow man. Let the volunteers do it. I will shoot them when they return for the damage they do to my country. Another civil war? You got it.

It is important for Iraqis to remember that we would never do what we have done and continue to do.

This is not a stain on the country's honor. The country's honor never existed in other than speeches. This is the fact. There was never any honor in this country to be stained outside of speeches made like tent preachers.

It was in a good cause
OK, show me. It has been going on for a year. Tell me what great things you learned a year ago using these methods. If the methods can be justified by the results you can convince me to support the methods. I am far from impractical. Show me. Show anyone. Speak up. What have been the benefits from the use of these methods?

Rockin' the hard place
You may or may not agree with anything I have posted. Simple fact is if the perps are punished in accordance with their crimes the super-patriots will revolt. If they are not Iraq will revolt. This is what we call a no-win situation.

But lets be honest about all of this. When Bush promises punishment he is clearly punishing the photographers.

Of course Bush is still in charge and should be defended by everyone who does not care his choice of staff lies to him. Lying by omission is call lying for a reason. The greatest humanitarian crisis in the world is now in Iraq.

South Park
Here I am laughing at the principle of South Park. The entire western world does not give a damn that thousands of civilians were murdered in this war. But it is all upset at a little homoerotic sex. Those boys were right. You can kill fucking anyone you want but don't show sex in any form. You can conduct the mayhem of the South Park Movie. You can slaughter your own grandmother but just don't hint at sex.

We have had reports of cold blooded murder since this started. That is on top of the indiscriminate bombing. And no one cared. But excite prurient interests and suddenly it is a big issue. It ain't the bomb that rips off a child's arms and legs that matters. It is an Iraqi on a leash.

I did not create human nature. I am not responsible for human nature. Look at this and see human nature in action. Stop deluding yourself it is any different from you reaction to what you are seeing.

2004 May 7

It is all but official the torture is official
At this point with the failure to prosecute commensurate with the nature of the crimes even the proverbial blind man can see murder, torture and abuse is official US policy. It is not believable when President Jesus claims ignorance. We have seen enough mass slaughter by the military as policy to think this relatively petty stuff is beyond him. It is said he personally ordered the siege of Fallujah.

FBI getting on the case
Seems the FBI has some backbone. The civilian CIA has been involved in the torture. They are now under investigation. Maybe they can surround CIA headquarters and do a Waco on them. I still want to know when the CIA men responsible for firing weapons from Predator drones are going to stand trial for murder. They were not in uniform. They were not lawful combatants.

Bringing Homosexual S&M to Iraq is doing the Lord's Work
It isn't hard to draw that conclusion from the works of President Jesus.

In every speech mentioning Iraq in the last year he made a point of lying by saying there were no longer any torture rooms or rape rooms in Iraq.

We should never judge Hitler by the actions of his people.

Supply lines
The supply line starts in Kuwait and runs the length of Iraq over war damaged roads. Reports of losing control of sections of those roads and attacks along those roads are becoming more frequent. Bullets can be air-dropped. MREs can be air-dropped. Gasoline and diesel cannot. Supply lines are life lines. They are the survival of our troops. Right now Iran could just do some saber-rattling talk about liberating Iraq from the occupation and the whole operation could collapse in a general uprising. And if Iraqis start the uprising it is the perfect time for Iran to step in and get a little payback for the Shah and his Savak.

A lot of pay back in fact. We would lose. Surrender might lead to a little torture payback. And if it did it would not be the "real" Muslims rather only a few aberrant people who would be punished by staying after school as is happening in the US.

Just don't get it
There are calls for Rumsfeld to resign over these atrocities. And the reasons? For our image around the world, for the safety of our troops, the good of our country. Let me get this straight. Rumsfeld resigns or is fired and takes a job paying at least twice as much outside the government and Iraqis are going to feel justice has been done and the US is a noble country worthy of respect. If he were put before a firing squad maybe but I don't see how being fired is going to impress anyone, not even me and I am very impressionable.

You gotta like Rummy saying he can't address torture because all they are accused of is abuse. So Iraqis see the America Bush knows only considers these things as abuse. That is the America Bush knows and the one Iraqis should appreciate and love. They just don't get it. I don't understand Arabic therefore I have no direct knowledge of what they are saying. Does anyone think Arabic language sources are being more polite than I talking about these things?

I do read the English Al Jazeera on the web. And oddly they are more polite than I in English. I can't distinguish them from straightforward reporting notably lacking in opinion in news reports at least as compared to US sources.

I just got a post that I should be defending our troops
I agree. And I will as soon as they name names as to who gave the orders and who is responsible. Until they do that they either did it themselves or are part of the coverup. There is no defense in either of those cases. I do not mean vague references or generalizations by organizations. I mean names and dates and orders even if it was only encouragement. An officer's encouragement is as good as an order. A civilians encouragement isn't worth jack shit but they might think the real world is like a Tom Clancy novel. They have to do that or hang alone. I respect loyalty but not in criminals.

But if they want to be part of the coverup then they should hang for the coverup as much as their crimes.

What crimes? Imagine a gang in New York or LA does these things to some homeless man for a couple days. What would the public demand be done to them? There would be self-righteous editorials flooding the media. Fox News would be on a rampage. And with the homosexual overtones Falwell and Robertson would be calling press conferences.

I mentioned the man who was beaten to death by an army squad. A few years ago a gang beat but did not kill a woman investment banker in Central Park in New York City. Remember the outrage? She lived. The Iraqi died. There were savage gangs in both cases. Tell me why the difference. Is Get Whitey a crime and Get Iraqi a duty? Americans were responsible in both cases. Yet what is clearly no less than murder in the second degree of an Iraqi earns the punishment for simple assault. And how should Iraqis view it?

Dershowitz
And it is not as though we have to go far to find prominent American, albeit izziehugging, lawyers and legal scholars advocating legalizing torture. Dershowitz does. I presume he feels his only client O.J. Simpson should have been tortured to get the truth.

Only someone totally out of touch with the news and history and even reality does not know the US has sponsored torture and has taught torture methods since the beginning of WWII. The reason for the regular protests at the College of the Americas is that it teaches torture methods -- it would be interesting to see a video of the hands on lab part of the course. One has to ask where they get the lab rats.

America tortures. Americans know it. The world knows it. The only problem here is the code of silence has been broken. The posturing was bad enough but now the same mutants are pretending it has never happened. Back in 1961 an Army recruiter told of throwing Vietnamese out of helicopters if they did not answer questions. And it was a Catholic High School and bragging of murder was permitted. This is nothing new.

Nor is pretending Americans do not do it anything new. Nor is pretending America does not support it anything new. Humans do it. Americans are human. Americans do it. QED

The were not trained in the Geneva Convention
The Geneva Convention requires the signatories to pass laws embodying the Convention in their military law. It is in the UCMJ or the US is in violation of the treaty for failing to do so. The troops are only bound by the UCMJ. If they were not trained in the UCMJ the entire training system of the military stands indicted.

Speaking of excuses
The troops involved in some of these and those not considered crimes have said they were getting revenge for 9/11 and didn't care who they killed. Take this back to WWII and a much greater war hysteria and ask yourself if you really believe the Hollywood version of our noble troops in that war. And then transfer that to the Japanese and Germans.

Speaking of whom, the Germans who refused to support an aggressive war on Iraq indistinguishable from the 1939 invasion of Poland. They were polite enough not to use the Nazi analogy in their refusal. You can call the French surrender monkeys because they cut and run in Vietnam as did the US but that is the last thing you can call the Germans who held out to nearly the last man.
