Iraq is not newsworthy
The death rate for US troops in Iraq continues to increase but the news has no time for it.

2004 July 08

Terror attack postpones US election?
Can't happen at the moment. The day of the election is the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November. The states have passed laws supporting elections on that date. To postpone the election EVERY state would have to agree and change their laws to the same new date. If even one state holds out that state can claim to have held the only valid election and have the right to select the President.

Iraq has been sovereign for ten days
And still the US has not released the POWs it holds. I have not heard anyone question it so I do not know the latest excuse not releasing them as required by the Geneva Convention.

2004 July 06

Hussein on trial
We learn the first day the US not the Iraqi judge censored much of the proceedings. That is not a good start. We only saw part of the Hussein and none of the other eleven. But one man didn't shut off the sound recording so we learned the official exchange between him and judge.

So we learn the war against Kuwait is one of the charges. We also learn there was no mention of the war against Iran. An odd ommission to say the least. How can one war be a crime and the other not a crime? Kuwait is on the US good guy list and Iran on the bad guy list. So the US is running the trial not Iraq.

It was rumored the whackos really want a grand crusade on the order of WWII. Now it appears they want a show trial like Nuremberg.

2004 June 22

Very strange reactions
Caught in clear lies they repeat the lies as though repetition will change lies into facts. Stranger still reporters deal with them as though repetition is working.

Hung with own words
Apparently someone has dug up a Bush speech saying the Geneva Conventions do not apply and it will be used by the defense in the courts martial cases.

2004 June 20

Happy Birthday to me
Born in 1945 as the replacement for WWII.

US kills 20 in Fallujah missile attack
Americans are not permitted in Fallujah. Americans have announced they only killed al Qaeda/militants/bad guys/whatever even though they have not examined the attack site. Iraqis say only civilians including many women and children were killed. The US military spokesman denied this and repeated the original claim. How can he know as there are no US military on site to look?

2004 June 19

Only Bush can't face the facts
Three modest facts.

  1. No evidence of any connection between Hussein and 9/11.
  2. No evidence of any unconventional weapons.
  3. No threat to the United States.
Together it means Bush owes Iraq an apology and he should plan to spend the next twenty years or so in prison in the Hague.

How dumb can they sound?
The US is complaining of non-Iraqi fighters entering Iraq to fight the non-Iraqi Americans.

2004 June 14

New enemies
Explain to me how making ten of thousands of new enemies for America in Iraq has made America safer. Iraqis who attack America as a consequence of the war are not terrorists but simply pursuing justice. Iraqis have a right in simple justice to seek to balance the scales in death and destruction. The Bush master plan is simple, call them terrorists and kill them.

Contractors are new enemies
The US wants all contractors to be immune from Iraqi law. They are already immune from military law and immune from their national laws. That will leave revenge as the only avenue of justice. They will soon be declared terrorists.

Collaborators being killed
Members of the puppet government of Iraq are being killed off. That is always the fate of collaborators.

Speaking of releasing prisoners
Good thing you didn't hold hold your breath from yesterday. The US announced it will continue to hold some 5000 prisoners after 30 June and did not address releasing Hussein. Hussein will not be permitted to have a public trial.

Speaking of Hussein turn over to Iraq
Still not holding your breaths I hope. US says it will hold Hussein after 30 June. And when will everyone be turned over? When the resistance to the occupation ends. There is nothing like a firm date.

2004 June 13

Iraq war ends June 30
And by all the rules of war and Geneva Conventions and common sense, all POWs are to be released no later than June 30. There are no excuses for any delays except for individuals charged with specific crimes which are crimes under the conventions of war.

And if there are people charged with crimes they can only be tried by Iraq or by an international tribunal. The US has no standing in the matter of their trials.

But don't hold your breath. Afghanistan was "free" nearly two years ago and still the US holds prisoners from that war without charges, presumably for the rest of their lives as no other date or condition has been set.

This is war Bush style.

2004 June 11

Reagan
Today is Friday, the official eulogy day. The rule is to speak well of the dead. No one will break the rule. I guess they all got it out of their systems while he was alive.

Tomorrow the news officially forgets Reagan was ever born and all the backed up news on how high the torture authorization hits the fan. And all the rest replaces Reagan. It is good to have it on a Saturday. Fewer people pay attention on Saturday which may not hurt Bush as much.

Kerry
Lurch still has not taken a stand against Bush or contrary to anything Bush has done and now has a clear six point lead against Bush. Lurch may be the first candidate to win in a landslide without breaking a sweat.

Iraq government
The people of Iraq all say it is a puppet and violence will increase. Who am I to argue with them when they agree with me.

It now like it was when the Brits were pulling the strings. The Brit puppet's body was tied to the back of a car and dragged through the streets of Baghdad until it more or less disappeared. Citizens of Washington, DC take heed. Imitation will be dealt with severely.

CIA, NSA, and all the billion dollar intelligence agencies
It is time to disband them all. Anyone with an internet connection and using google learned all the propaganda about Iraq was false in hours not two years and still hoping it is true. Tens of billions of dollars are being wasted paying for tens of thousands of people who are incompetent compared to a google search.

2004 June 10

Medical records of prisoners
The "interrogators" are given the medical records of prisoners at Guantanamo. The official answer is, it is done to determine the prisoners are healthy enough to be interrogated. What kind of questioning requires a healthy prisoner to survive?

2004 June 9

Justice Department as dumb as Padilla
When the US claimed a street punk could make a dirty bomb the allegation has been questioned. Many were willing to give the gov the benefit of the doubt. The dumbasses at the Justice Department finally released some details. They said he was going to simply put explosives around uranium. That is essentially harmless despite the word uranium. Once more it is revealed the people in Justice are as dumb as street punks. A man has been in prison without charges for over two years for being as dumb as Ashcroft.

To be clear. This may show criminal intent to cause harm and injury. But Justice portrayed him as in fact capable of causing devastating harm and injury not as a dumbass like Ashcroft and the other people involved in this. Ashcroft either deliberately lied about Padilla or Ashcroft is a dumbass. There is nothing in between. Even calling it a "dirty bomb" is a flat out lie.

Bremer controls future elections in Iraq
The US has prohibited free elections in Iraq by banning anyone associated with any militia from standing for office for three years. Whether or not the limitation is reasonable, it is for Iraq to do not Lord Bremer.

Suing civilian torture companies
The companies are named in the official Army report so they are being sued. They will have do to more than mere say it was not authorized. They will have to demonstrate it in a civil trial. A civil court nailed OJ after he walked from a criminal court. The only defense would appear to have everyone down to the torturers themselves testify they did not order it leaving the torturers to take the fall or give contradictory testimony.

2004 June 5

Draft talk
You have probably thought about or heard both sides by now. But there is a third side. More troops are needed to either continue the occupation of Iraq or for additional wars of aggression. There is a middle way. If we don't have the troops end the occupation and don't start the wars. It is very simple. It is not as though any of this has anything to do with the defense of the United States.

Since the defense of the US is not involved in either the occupation of Iraq nor in any additional wars of conquest there is no justification for a draft. If neither can be done with current volunteer troop strength don't do it. It is only irrational people who do not accept limits.

It is sort of a radical idea to live within limitations. If the people really want these wars they will certainly volunteer to fight them. I have no problem increasing funding to recruit a larger volunteer army. That is not the same as a draft. If people do not want to conquer other countries why should they be forced to?

I am also willing to change the age requirements. The army needs mechanics. I have no problem letting mechanics in their 40s join up to repair Humvees behind the lines. Given their cheering on the war there are certain to be enough of them to provide all the mechanics the army needs. That will free up thousands of recruits to be foot soldiers.

Given the overwhelming support for the war on terror eliminating the age requirement could staff all specialty requirements. The young kids can all carry rifles and fight in tanks. They won't be needed for other duties.

We have already shown this by contracting out chow line and KP to civilians. They do not pass the physical or age requirements of the military. If that can be done without any risk so can the motor pool. But that would be expensive and there are so many tens of thousands of mechanics willing to ship out to the middle east at a quarter the pay to back up their words with actions. All it would take is changing unnecessary age and physical requirements.

And of course not one of the flag waving patriots would volunteer. It is only a good war if someone else fights it. They would fight it but they are too old or can't pass the physical. I sympathize with them. So I propose simply we remove the impediments which prevent them from doing what they want to do.

2004 June 4

Bush refuses to cooperate with criminal investigation
Former ambassador Joseph Wilson was sent to Niger by the US to investigate the papers indicating Iraq had purchased uranium ore. They had already been exposed as a crude forgery but Wilson was sent anyway. Wilson confirmed they were a crude forgery. For whatever reason his wife, Valerie Plame, identity as an undercover CIA operative was released to the press. The low life Bob Novak made it public. This is a crime worth five years in prison.

The FBI has requested White House personnel sign papers to release Novak and others from their confidentiality agreement. Bush has refused to order that. Granted, those who refuse to sign are automatically suspect. Anyone taking a plea bargain would name who else knew. That would likely confirm Bush knew. Everyone who knew are accomplices to the crime.

The story out of the White House is Bush has ordered something called full cooperation with the investigation. That does not include the confidentiality releases. What does full mean? This is not a cat and mouse game. This is a felony investigation. Quibbling over details has no place in it. Bush is even more liable to identify the perps than the FBI which is only his delegate in the matter.

There is no need for Bush to consult an outside criminal attorney unless he does know something about the leak. Knowledge of a crime requires him to take action as he is more responsible than the Attorney General to take action. He cannot invoke executive privilege to cover up a crime. It is his responsibility to uncover and expose crime. The entire Justice Department is merely his deputy in criminal matters. His only lawful recourse is to refuse to answer questions as the answers would incriminate him, to take the fifth. Negative political consequences of doing so do not permit him to lie. National security cannot be claimed as the crime itself was damaging to national security.

And while so far the story is Bush is only considering hire an attorney, Cheney has already hired a criminal attorney. This could only be related to his crimes in giving billions of dollars in contracts to his previous employer.

There isn't much more to say about this until I have some feeble White House denials to ridicule.

2004 June 3

Truce of Najaf
It appears over. So far no clear indication of which side is responsible or what happened.

The Fun News
Grand jury testimony names Bush as a conspirator and accomplice to the felony of revealing a CIA covert operative as such. That is five years for the act and ten years for the conspiracy.

Given the new rules Bush will be held naked in solitary with a bag over his head for three days before interrogation while being dunked in water to near the point of drowning. It is as yet unclear if he will be detained in Guantanamo while being questioned. Sarcasm aside, those are the new rules. Certainly those who gave Chalabi classified information satisfy the criteria for enemy combatants.

With any luck the game is over. But Bush could pull it out of the fire by turning on his advisors with a vengeance and gain grudging respect from his former detractors and cement his role as imperial ruler.

2004 June 1

Pachachi did the right thing
He rejected the position of President as the US wanted. Another loss for the US. Another win for a possible future Iraqi unity. Iraqis uniting around Iraq rather than personal and transient benefit.

Reluctantly
Bush: Throughout our history, American has gone to war reluctantly.

Did anyone notice any reluctance at all in the war on Iraq? Afghanistan? The man is out of touch with reality.

2004 May 31

What does America offer the world?
Florida 2000 elections would too obvious to mention. Also too obvious, sex, drugs and rock and roll. But in practice the US does not offer anything. It imposes. It imposes its latest and greatest fads upon the world from Xena, Warrior Princess and Deep Throat to live free or we will kill you.

It is impossible to impose freedom by force.

That is a truth America has not realized. In practice the government has imposed only murderous dictatorships and not encouraged one truly democratic movement as it always has required undemocratic forces to control the so called democratic country.

Fact is human love war because war brings slaughter. As long as you are on the winning side slaughter vindicates you. The vicarious thrill we all feel when the bodies of the designated enemies are shown does bring a thrill to the heart and uplift the spirit. That is a fact of human nature. Even the most anti-war can't deny the feeling of satisfaction when the news reports insurgents killed. The wild cheering of the pro-war faction at such reports fills them with pride even if they were defending their homes or avenging the death of their children. That only adds to the pleasure of the kill.

The Arab Mind
As we are still in the slow news cycle of the US Memorial day three day weekend let me also digress on how I knew Iraq would not go as Bush and the Neocon Trotskyites presented it. I first assumed "Arabs" were just like Americans. I then hypothesized the response of Americans to an Iraqi conquest of America to rid us of Bush. And then I hypothesized the Iraqi stated intention of imposing an Iraqi style government upon America. And then I saw things through the eye of Iraqis.

Let me not assume Iraqis are as dumb as I am. Let me assume they might give Americans a chance where I would shoot any and all Iraqis troops on sight just for the fun of it. Let me assume Iraqis would give Americans a few months to deliver on their promises where I would not give Iraqis any time at all before I started killing them. Enough assumptions. Iraqis are much more tolerant than I would be, ever. Americans can consider themselves very fortunate Iraqis are much nicer than I would be under any circumstances.

And I have not been wrong in thinking Iraqis are better than me. They have shown remarkable restraint where I would have killed without compunction from day one. Even Jerry Falwell were he capable of being rational might have to admit that. So might Bush were he rational.

Keep in mind Bush is proof that never being sober for twenty years does not have any long term effects. And remember when he says it is only his faith keeping him from being a falling down drunk he really means it thus proving he is unable to form a coherent thought.

Even his detractors claim he is not stupid. That only indicates his detractors are dumber than he or Bush really is intelligent and just plays dumb on TV. If that is true he knows exactly what he is saying and doing and intends all the consequences.

It is not like any of this is new. I posted this back in July 2003.

A free Iraq
The Iraqis want to appoint one man, the US and UN want another man. Why would a free Iraq give a damn what the US and UN want? Why would the US and UN have any interest at all in who is chosen? Bremer threatens to veto the Iraqi choice. Who is Bremer to tell a free people what to do?

The difference between the two men is simple. The Iraqi choice, Ghazi al-Yawar wants the US to leave. The US choice, Adnan al-Pachachi, wants the US to stay. Freedom of choice was never so simple as this. Iraqis have none. Pachachi's most patriotic act would be to say the US should leave. Yawar's clever choice would be to announce the US should stay and change his mind later.

2004 May 30

Holidays
Strangely the entire world appears to take a holiday on American holidays. It is like nothing happens in Israel on Saturday. Even non-Jews covering events in Israel take the day off.

So without events it is time to reflect on my confidence in the course of events. Regardless of the claims of the cynics, Bush and his cabinet are human. Unfortunately being human means admitting mistakes means admitting responsibility for the consequences of the mistakes. The consequences of their mistakes are to great to bear if admitted. Therefore no mistakes will be admitted, the course to hell will be stayed, and everyone else will be blamed for the consequences.

Cynics will also say his eye is on re-election and that rules his thinking. Not really. Re-election means the people agree with him. Therefore he did not make mistakes and is not responsible for the consequences. Even if he loses he can take solace the 40% who voted for him agreed he was not responsible even though the 40% are yellow dog Republicans.

He can't turn back and he has no path forward save what fate deals him. He has no long term objective, only the objective of the week. And Kerry is almost trying to out Bush, Bush. He would just do it a bit differently so Bush can't attack the difference. It appears to be a bit like Clinton/Dole in 1996. Dole could not get traction and neither can Bush. Bush can only campaign based upon his success and he has no success to point to. Should even bin Laden ride to his rescue with some terror attack Kerry need only point out Bush has not made America safer from terrorism.

Rummy the lovable idiot
At West Point you said, "Yet despite our successes, we are closer to the beginning of this struggle with global insurgency than to its end." Applying the Clinton school of English Analysis we discover the war against the perps of 9/11 really did end in Afghanistan. The war on Iraq doesn't seem to fit in any place other than it incited insurgency against the occupation. And now we are in a new war against people who resist occupation and aggression.

Insurgency is against either the local government (civil war) or it is against a foreign military occupying their country. That is it. There is no insurgency in the US against the US. That leaves us with Afghanistan and Iraq where there are insurgencies against American occupation. Unless he is saying we are going to be fighting other countries' wars his statement makes no sense.

Failed completely
Following what I said long ago there is a stampede to agree with me, we failed in Iraq. There is no agreement on how to pull out with the least damage. The so called leaders are still sticking to the 135,000 troops for the foreseeable future claim. They don't repeat it but they do not contradict it. They rely upon their flacks to make it look good. Of course Bush did not exactly say ten years nor did Clinton exactly say he did not have sex with that woman.

Murdering a Wedding Celebration
That is the introduction to war with Syria. It is what Congress wants. It is what Bush wants. It is what Israel wants. Can anyone doubt it is next on the agenda?

2004 May 29

A very slow day
All I can remember is the first Gulf War cost $91 billion and the participating countries paid for it, not the US.

2004 May 28

Victory for Al Sadr
Unless the US plans to drop a missile on him, he has won the stand-off with the great US military. He was losing twenty men for every American dead. He won. He won by not surrendering. He won by not losing. That is guerrilla warfare in action.

Will it encourage other Iraqis to resist? Who knows. The important thing is if it discourages Americans from attempting to suppress a free press in Iraq. Keep in mind all this fighting was over a two-bit tabloid with a circulation of a couple thousand. All the arrest warrant crap came later.

This comes after the defeat at Fallujah where no US demands were met. No weapons turned in. No "terrorists" arrested. But a Ba'athist is running the show.

But ...
Daily isn't good enough some times. I wrote the previous section about 12 hours ago. Now I read the US has sent tanks back into Najaf and the fighting has started again. The US did announce a pullout. Now it is back in. Maybe someone realized it is dangerous to let Iraqis think they have a chance against the all powerful conqueror. Five dead, fourteen wounded and the fighting continues. Their hearts and minds will surly follow.

Speaking of Ba'athists
One has been tapped to run Iraq. It looks like the rule is any Ba'athist but Hussein.

2004 May 27

Israeli terrorists in the US
Six cases of Israelis in the US illegally driving rented moving trucks have made the national news in the US. In three cases explosives have been detected. None have been questioned with extreme prejudice. The government can't deal with Israeli terrorists in America.

Prediction. When there are so many cases even the New York Times cannot ignore the story, the government will thank then for their assistance in testing security measures around the country. Why they had to be Israeli nationals will never be answered. Anyone who asks will be labeled anti-semitic.

FBI catches on
They picked up on the accusation of Chalabi passing classified information and are searching for the criminals in the Pentagon who gave him classified information. Espionage and perhaps treason are legitimate charges. The smart money is betting on Israel being involved again.

$191 Billion so far
And the budget for 2005 has not been submitted. Bush insists we will be there through 2005 with no plans to leave in 2006. $191 billion so far with another $25 billion for this year bringing this year to $112 billion. So we reasonably expect at least $112 billion for 2005. So by the end of 2005 we will be at $303 billion if it doesn't get any worse, if no more troops are needed.

Sloganeering patriotism
They don't quite spell it out but it is a variation on the following.

You must support Bush to support the troops.
If you don't support Bush you don't support the troops.
Criticizing Bush means you do not support the troops.
The point is to define patriotism as supporting Bush and his fellow ignorant war mongers. Bush put our troops in danger and criticizing Bush for doing it means not supporting the troops. I'll bet anything you want that if the troops are given a vote to stay or leave they will be back next week.

2004 May 26

Impeach Bush
People are beginning to talk seriously about impeachment. It will have to include Cheney and Rumsfeld at a minimum.

Terrorists are coming
Maybe if Bush had pursued terrorists rather than invading Iraq for the purpose of creating more terrorists whatever Bush is planning to let happen wouldn't be an issue at all. Everything is known about the coming attack except who, what, when, where and why. The smart money is betting on US made anthrax being used again. Do England's bookies have a line on this yet?

We can also speculate on the who. We know the country is suffering from a rash of Israelis driving moving vans that test positive for explosives. We know they are in the country illegally. We also know for some unexplained reason the US simply deports them. There have been six cases reported in the news so far.

We have lost in Iraq
I know, old news. The only question is if we are going to cut our losses and leave now or kill a few more tens of thousands of Iraqis and make our loss greater than it is now. All over the middle east people who were trying to promote democracy are faced with democracy equals torture. They can no longer present the benefits of Western government. The only defense is believe what we say not what we do.

No serious person ever thought any of the changing things Bush talked about could be accomplished. Bush changed the objective every few weeks and to different audiences but none of them turned out to be doable.

But a rational person would ask for a form of government that does not have any torture, rape and murder at all instead of one that just punishes it with wrist slaps after they occur. The much publicized single courts martial was punished this a tenth of what it would merit in civilian law for each count. If murder, rape and torture are just abuse then what is the point of law?

And back to what I said much earlier, the grunts are being hung out to dry while the generals are being saved from life at hard labor. If the grunts are being ordered to fall on their swords then I want the sword to be as big as possible so they are encouraged to point the finger higher up. They did not learn these methods on their own. This has been the worst disaster for US foreign relations in all of history. There is no way to recover from it.

There is no way to recover from it because Americans will not like the idea of punishment in accordance with the crime for what they did to Iraqis.

Building the new American embassy
Isn't this rather stupid? Why build an embassy before knowing if Iraq will want any diplomatic relations with the US.

2004 May 25

No power of the enemy will stop us in Iraq
Sounded good when Bush said it in his speech except that the enemies he is talking about are Iraqis. Iraqis do not like the collaborators the US has chosen. That is why they have been killing the people who collaborate with the Americans.

And when he said "terrorists will not determine the future of Iraq" he said Iraqis will not determine the future of Iraq. Those he calls terrorists are patriots. Patriots will determine the future of Iraq. Collaborators will not.

UN appointed government to come
This is the biggest joke of all. Iraqis showed their love of the UN when they blew up the UN compound and chased it out of the country. And now we are supposed to believe Iraqis will embrace whatever the UN chooses.

Iraqis are who?
They are any Iraqi and every Iraqi. Until there is a government chosen by Iraqis every Iraqi speaks for his country. Chaos? Of course. That is why men create governments. But an imposed or selected or chosen government is not instituted by Iraqis so it has no moral authority. It has only lethal authority. As such it does not differ from a dictatorship.

Chalabi
I have no brief for a convicted embezzler who help the neo-con marxists to lie us into war but if in fact he is guilty of passing classified information to Iran I want the arrest of those who gave him classified information. Which American would give a foreigner classified information?

No UN troops to Iraq, please
If Bush can get combat troops out of Iraq he will just start another war some place else. He might even get back to taking an interest in Osama bin Forgotten.

If there is another terrorist attack in the US
Be certain to blame Bush first for going after Iraq instead of terrorism. Despite his continuing lies, there is no evidence of any connection of Iraq to terrorism, 9/11 or anything like that in the US.

2004 May 24

Bush to start PR campaign for his Iraq plan
Which will do great things for all the Iraqis who listen to American TV. Expect only platitudes, no substance, and no exposition of a plan. It is unlikely he will outline the new course he swears to stay.

US denies damaging mosque
Even though it destruction where the tank smashed into the building, the bodies have been sent to local morgues and the blood stains where people were crushed and dragged 30 feet inside the mosque by the tank are documented on tape. Americans will believe the denial. Iraqis will see it for themselves. And Americans will wonder why the crazy Muslims don't love them.

This is almost as good as denying shooting up a wedding party after the before and after film has been aired showing the wedding celebration and the dead guests. Who are you going to believe? The US Army or your own eyes?

All reconstruction has been stopped by the fighting
Except the military bases. Even though we are not staying eleven permanent bases are being built. Even though we will leave as soon as possible money is being wasted on these permanent camps. Whatever for?

Kerry need do but one thing
Promise he will not issue pardons to anyone in the administration. This will permit them to be tried under US law where they face the death penalty. Those nancyboys in the Hague don't use the death penalty.

A great speech by Bush
The only new thing was a new torture facility to replace the old. The first thing we do, we destroy the evidence.

Otherwise not one change from the "course of the month" that is steadily winning the hearts and minds of Iraqis to the cause of killing as many Americans as possible until they have the sense to get out before they all die.

Bush really is smart. He is seeking respect from Islam. It is required of all Muslims to respect those whose minds have been taken by Allah. Bush said to be praying that is not a rumor started by Cosby and Hope in Road to Morocco.

Networks don't do kitsch
So they didn't carry his trivial speech. They do get embargoed copies of speeches before they are delivered. If you do not like my opinion of it, consider the opinion of the four major broadcast networks that didn't waste the air time on his bilge.

2004 May 23

Persistent rumors
Just as there were rumors of torture before the pictures came out there are rumors of mass graves created by the US to cover the slaughter of entire villages. Rumors have it they are in out of the way places. The problem is the US knows so little about Iraq they might have picked the most popular recreational hiking area in the country.

General Sanchez implicated
He runs the US Military in Iraq. He has been implicated in approval of the torture, rape and murder. Stand by for attacks on those who gave the information. This on top of all the unofficial information from volunteer Deep Throats pointing to Rumsfeld as the instigator and authority for it all.

Rafah
Israel's murder rampage in Rafah continues. Israel's murder rampage in the occupied territories continues. I don't write about it much as I can say the same thing every day of the year and it is true.

To the troops in Iraq
What to come home soon? Beat up an Iraqi and send pictures of it to the Washington Post. In the current environment just some harsh language might be enough.

Speaking to you folks. I have no idea who told you what you are doing in helping instead of hurting. What is happening to you is because you did what those idiot officers told you to do. You should know how to deal with them.

You should know by now Iraq was never a threat to the US. You were never there to protect the US. You were lied to. Don't shoot the messenger. You have the vote. Use it. A president is a hired hand. No more.

Bush is God
Or receives direct revelation from his judeo-christian god. And that god ordered everything that has happened in Iraq. Israel at least spared the Christian God from involvement in its slaughters of the innocents.

No more photos of torture to come from Iraq
Digital cameras of all kinds have been prohibited to the troops. And that means torture and other atrocities will continue else there is no need for the ban.
