At the time of WWII, one of the titles of the King of England was
Emperor of India. That included today's Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Even in those days about a half billion people. By the rhetoric
of the war years, they were all enslaved.
At that time the second largest nation in the world by population was India after China as the first. It remains so today but smaller. In the days when the King of England was the Emperor of India, India included modern Pakistan and Bangladesh. It was clearly more than half the population of China rather than just the half it appear today. Some people with agendas ask, did England have gas chambers? Of course the answer is no. But did Germany ever hook a nation on Opium that continues for more than a hundred years with no end in sight? The answer to that is hell no. How many lives were lost in the last century? No one knows but 6 million over a century out of about 4000 million who have lived in that century is reasonble. How many more before it ends? No one knows. Of course we must judge people in terms of their times. Was opium a legal import to England at that time? Do pigs have wings? Therefore the intent of England was criminal and deliberate. But then, they were only yellows. Unless they were half or more European and then they were high yellow. And of course blame it on merchants. That is the only excuse I have ever been given and since the only it is not stupider or stupidest, it is just plain stupid by default. The entire government falls in line and sends its Navy and Marines. Its foreign office negotiates the lease of Hong Kong. Just what part of Britain can claim clean hands? Rhetorical question there, only those that deal only with internal affiars. There is no excuse. Of course we can say that is history and yes it is today. But that is not reality. If anything you, the reader, think about today in terms that are influenced by anything that occurred 35 or more years ago, I point out that Hitler forming a government in Germany was no older than that. And his thinking was formed in the 1890s and 1910s in school when it was happening. That is also the time when Britain was herding Boer women and children into death camps as they were built on swamps without cause. Where did Hitler's blood thirsty thinking arise? In the mind of a pacifist, vegetarian, want to be art student in those decades. And he was seeing exactly what was acceptable in the world as he grew up. Formative years. They matter to all of us. And he like I grew up in an environment of people who were the winners in the 1870 Franco-Prussian war. And the adults around him were the winners by damn! :) If you want to see the man, see how history and Britain formed him in the time he was being educated and maturing. Find it different from yourself if you possibly can. But back to England, if you look at the methods by which Britain went from a trading colony to an empire in all of India, you see a mirror copy of Hitler in Czechoslovakia. Taking advantage of local disturbances, using local allies, expansion, freedom in exchange for allegience. And to play the British game regarding bringing electricity and railroads and medicine to India ... sorry absurd on its face but I will continue. By exactly the same token if Germany had held the conquest of Poland to this day, it could claim giving Poland computers, jet aircraft, and everything else invented after conquest. That is exactly what Britain claims for India, everything invented after conquest. I am not saying this makes an issue. I am saying that these absurd claims, patently false, were as well known in 1890 as today. But of course they are not well known today. And of course the point of this website is changing perspectives, perceptions and currency of knowlege. Yes the US know how Germany was treating Jews in great detail. Because of that great detailed knowledge the average American knew that it was better than the treatment of some states treatment of "niggers." So there was no basis whatsoever for any pre-war US interest. |
